Who can Benefit from Regenerative Medicine?

Most patients we see have tried other more traditional treatments and have either not gotten any better, or even worse they have continued to have even more pain. Unfortunately, a lot of people we see depend on multiple medications per day to try and function, but still are not happy with how they feel or how they live their lives. It is unfortunately the nature of deteriorating and degenerative joints, they will get worse with time, and generally the pain increases as well.

By the time we examine most patients their pain has been a part of their lives for years, many are on medications they no longer want to take. They have tried and failed other options, and they have had to give up things they enjoy like the golf game or lifting grandkids. Most have tried physical therapy, occupational therapy, chiropractic care, massage therapy or other alternative treatments with little or no lasting relief, or they would not be coming to see us to find relief. Many people continue to suffer with chronic joint pain month after month, then it turns into years with no relief, so they try more aggressive and invasive procedures. With all the great surgeons we have, not every case eliminates the pain or the problem, and often they seek additional treatment through regenerative medicine.

Regardless of what you have done in the past for your joint pain, you may be a candidate for care, we want to see if we can help you find the solution you have been seeking.

Regenerative Medicine is Very Low Risk

Regenerative medicine is very low risk and requires little to no recovery time afterward compared to surgery where there may be weeks of therapy and down time to recover from the treatment. Most patients can continue to work and maintain full activities the day of the treatment. Knee replacements for example have become a very popular procedure and often work well, but when a conservative treatment option is available, it may be a better solution for you.

The risks associated with any surgery are real and should not be overlooked. Additional time off for recovery, expenses from the procedure and follow up rehab often make regenerative medicine appealing to those who want to remain active while getting out of pain and off their medications. If regenerative medicine is not covered by your insurance, it is often more affordable than your deductible and copays you will have with other interventions.

Regenerative Medicine & Other Cutting Edge Therapies

Unfortunately with time as we age and our lifestyle choices start to take their toll, the body’s ability to repair itself is slowed down, and the body produces less cells and other key components with healthy healing regenerative properties. This is aging as simple as it gets, fortunately now with the amazing leaps we have made recently in medicine we have the ability to reverse this. We can actually jump-start the body’s ability to heal and repair certain tissues that are diseased, deteriorating or otherwise failing.

Regenerative Therapy Explained

We all know the human body has a miraculous ability to heal and repair itself! With regenerative medicine we are only helping the body to do it more efficiently, we don’t use medications with potentially dangerous side effects, we don’t remove any damaged tissues or even the whole knee for example. We aid the body in repairing itself, we just use cutting edge therapies to help it do so.

Unlike a steroid or pain injection, the results are not instant, it takes time for your body's tissue to heal. Most people will begin to see their symptoms improve within a few weeks but often maximum success is achieved at months three and four. Depending on the injury we will often combine laser therapy to the regenerative medicine protocols to improve the outcomes and try and speed the recovery process. We also use functional neurology protocols when helpful and we strive to improve your success chances any way we can. We will suggest a plan of care for you and lay out any options we think will help you at the time of your examination. You will walk out with options for your treatment, and we will do our best to help you achieve your goals.

Regenerative Medicine Frequently Asked Questions

Regenerative medicine is an exciting new breakthrough in medicine providing new treatment options for joint pain and degeneration, tendon and ligament damage, inflammation, neuropathy and chronic pain.

Doctors have been using regenerative medicine for decades now safely and effectively treating patients for a wide variety of conditions. Our tissues must exceed the most demanding standards of the FDA to be used patient care. We only use products from labs with the absolutely highest standards and we believe we have the highest quality products in the industry to give you the safest treatment options we can provide you.

No two patients need the same treatment so it is impossible to say until we examine you and customize your plan of care for your unique condition. Some insurance carriers will cover part or all of our treatment for some conditions, others will not. We will verify your insurance benefits at no cost to you so you will know exactly what is covered and what is not. We don’t ever want to let expense be the reason people don’t get care with us and continue to suffer, so we will work with you and can accept HSAs or will can set up a payment plan that fits your needs.

While no treatment is 100% successful we believe this is the safest best alternative for most chronic joint pain conditions. We can’t guarantee any outcome, but we do guarantee we will create a customized plan for you and we will give you our honest expectations. We expect to see significant relief for you of your symptoms and experience shows the majority of patients will respond very favorably with decreased pain levels and improved function and abilities.

You are likely a good candidate for regenerative medicine if you have failed other traditional treatment options like NSAIDS, prescription medications, PT, OT, Chiropractic, or even surgery. If you want to get relief when other options have failed to help, and you want to improve your quality of life, without addictive pain meds and the risks of surgery then you are a candidate for care with us.

We do the treatment in our office with a local anesthetic and most people experience only minimal temporary discomfort. You always have a possibility of minor swelling, redness or bruising at the injection site, but the risks are minimal and it is generally relieved with ice. The human tissues we use are treated with caution for safety and every required test is performed to insure quality and purity. Some regenerative medicine tissues are taken from your fat or your bone marrow, we do not use these procedures as we believe our samples are the highest quality and we don’t want to add the risk of illness or infection from collecting the tissue samples from you.
